Devin Faraci has gleaned some new information on the planned Apatow-stable horror movie written by SNL alum Bill Hader, called House of Joel.
He quotes Hader explaining the project during Sundance:
“It is definitely about guys nowadays, that idea that you watch fucked up shit on TV, how violence in our culture – this sounds really hoity toity – you watch fucked up reality shows, I love true crime shows. The idea of that thing coming to your house, and what do you do? I would shit my pants. That’s basically what the movie is about. What if that guy decided to come to your house? What would you and your dipshit friends do about it?”
It sounds like an interesting project but, right now, just a curiosity more than anything else. Hader is certainly talented by I remain unconvinced he can really hold the attention of an audience as a film actor.
Bill Hader has revealed a few details on his next project during an interview with Bill Simmons on ESPN’s The BS Report.
Hader said he was looking to be in the next movie from Adventureland and Superbad director Greg Mottola, called Paul and starring our very own Simon Pegg and Nick Frost.
Devin Faraci on CHUD notes the annoyance of Hader saying he would be in Paul on such a show and the reticence of the host to get any further information on the facts. However, it sounds like Pegg could soon have an American project to be proud of with the pedigree lining up behind this one.
Faraci also noted that Hader mentioned his slasher movie script, being written with fellow Saturday Night Live writer Simon Rich.
