Wings of Desire is to be released on Criterion edition, in Blu-ray also, in November.

The guy playing James T Kirk’s dad is Chris Hemsworth, presently only known for being on Australian soap Home & Away, but hopefully to get more attention now.
Our news this week: The Deadpool spin-off. Keanu Reeves cast at Jekyll and Hyde. Ratner off Conan, possibly in favour of James McTeigue.
Wrath of Khan director Nicholas Meyer also worked on The Human Stain and Elegy, both adapted from the work of Philip Roth.
Timecrimes director Nacho Vigalondo’s excellent, Oscar-nominated short film, 7:35 de la Manana Corto (7:35 in the Morning).
Silent Running director was indeed Douglas Trumbull.
